Student Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures

It is our No. 1 goal to ensure that we have a safe learning and working environment for our students and staff each and every day. A committee recently reviewed the school's drop off and pick up policy, made some changes, and came up with the following, effective Monday, Oct. 18:

Before-school drop-off policy:
Parent/Guardians pay drop off students outside Door #1 or Door #13.  Parent/guardians can escort students to the entryway but aren’t allowed to walk the student to the classroom. Each entryway will be monitored by a staff member.

During school drop-off policy:
Parents/Guardians are to drop off students outside Door #1 – students are to enter through the district office and sign in with Lisa before heading to their classroom or locker.

During school pick-up policy:
Parents/Guardians are to enter the district office through the secure entry and wait in the district office for their child to arrive.  Before leaving the office: K–6th grade students must be signed out by a parent/guardian, 7th–12th graders can sign themselves out.

After-school pick-up policy:

  • K – 6th grade students who are riding the bus, exit Door #13.

  • K – 6th grade students attending the childcare center will be escorted by a staff member.

  • 7 – 12th grade students who are riding the bus, exit Door #12.

  • All K – 12th grade students who are getting picked up by a parent/guardian, exit Door #1

  • All van transportation before and after school will take place outside door #5.

  • All parking spots in the loop and on the street outside Door #1 will be left open for families to park when picking up kids after school.

  • High School students can exit any door walking home, except Door #5 (for safety purposes).

  • Preschool families can continue with drop and pick up locations at Doors #10 and 11.

We are excited for the opportunity to honor many fantastic student-athletes, coaches, and teams of the Bertha-Hewitt School District.

There has been a rich tradition of success over the years, and we are seeking committee members to help enshrine members into our newly created Bertha-Hewitt Athletics Hall of Fame.

Initial duties of the committee will be to develop a viable process by which former students, athletes, coaches and teams are elected to the B-H HOF and create timetables for regular meetings, nominations, elections and celebrations.

We wish for our committee to consist of staff, coaches and administrators from the past and present, multiple sports interests represented, as well as male and female representatives.

We are seeking nominations for committee members as of today.  If you believe an individual within our school community (past or present) would be a good fit to participate in this committee please send a nomination to Mr. David Mills, B-H Activities Director, at david.mills@isd786.org.

When submitting a nomination for an individual, please include their full name, current contact information, and a brief description of why they would be a good choice to serve on the committee.

Deadline for nominations will be Friday, October 29.

Vanco ticketing allows you to pre-purchase tickets online before the game.  Follow this link: https://www.vancoevents.com/us/book/search?keyword=Bertha-Hewitt or click on the red button below.

Once on our school's event page, you will be able to select games that you wish to purchase tickets for -- adults are $5, non-Bertha-Hewitt students are $3, and as always, Bertha-Hewitt students and seniors may attend for FREE.

Once you purchase tickets online, a confirmation email will be sent to you, simply print the confirmation ticket or screen shot it and show it at the gate.  It's that easy!
